"Science in the Village," a scientific outreach event in rural Lugo, is coming soon.

Madrid, April 24 (EFEverde).- For the next three days (April 25, 26 and 27), the Lugo village of Pena da Nogueira, the municipality with the lowest population density in Galicia, will once again be filled with farmers, researchers and environmental communicators from Spain and Italy as the setting for the fourth edition of "Science in the Village," a gathering of research, communication, art, and rural development.

Each attendee of the event, organized by the Corripa Association and the Rural Environment Department of the Lugo Provincial Council, will give a talk or participate in debates on topics such as the current state of scientific dissemination, agriculture, and biodiversity conservation, among others.

There will also be cultural exhibits. For example, on Saturday night, you'll be able to hear a recital by environmental journalist and poet Nieves Neira, and a sound montage by Carlos de Hita, a journalist and sound technician specializing in the sounds of nature.

Other journalists and speakers attending include Pedro Cáceres, Sandra Sutherland, José Antonio Montero, and Javier Sandoval. Among the scientists are Elena Cartea (vice president of CISIC), Javier Castroviejo (president of the Friends of Doñana Association), Félix Torres (taxonomist and entomologist), Conchi Lillo (neurobiologist), and Bernabé Moya (botanist).

"Science in the Village" will take place until April 27 in this village located in Negueira de Muñiz, a Galician mountain on the border with Asturias.

Italian visit

An Italian delegation will also participate in this edition, led by Walter Secci, secretary of the Associaziones Città della Terra Cruda, and Rosella Orru, councilor of the Ussaramanna Town Council and head of the Festival of Spontaneous Herbs, which celebrates the beginning of the first ever festival on the Italian island of Sardinia.

They will be welcomed in the Green Hall of the Lugo Provincial Council, and will then visit initiatives such as Agroturismo Arqueixal and the village of Piornedo. This visit aims to strengthen the partnership between the Italian festival and the Lugo event. EFEverde
